ARTIST: SERA HOLLAND
A SPECIALLY COMMISSIONED PALETTE SCALLOP - 21 x 14cm

Sera Holland is a designer and artist living and working at the base of Table Mountain in Cape Town. Sera is better known for her textiles and home ware products, which she previously produced under her label Handmade By Me. Her more recent work includes painting, which has grown into a full-time profession.

Sera is gaining recognition for her love of thick impasto oil paint where she strives to merge the abstract with the real. Up close, her artwork appears to be in total chaos, but as you zoom out, order is restored and the image is revealed. While Sera is predominantly inspired by the beautiful natural landscape in which she lives, she also enjoys exploring themes of colour and texture, often with an element of playfulness.
