Did you know that while 90 million people globally are living with TB, cancer, and HIV/AIDS, over 300 million people around the world are affected by rare diseases? Most of these conditions are genetic, affect children, and have limited or no treatment options available.

 

Help the Rare Disease Genomics Research Group at Stellenbosch University support these patients and their families by participating in our online charity auction.

 

The auction features A1 prints on canvas, created by our talented registrar in medical genetics, Cumine van Tonder. These beautifully thoughtful pieces merge nature and anatomy, symbolising the intricate connection between the human body and the world around us.

 

At the Rare Disease Genomics Research Group, we are dedicated to diagnosing patients who have been waiting for answers (often for several years) and supporting both patients and families throughout their rare disease journey. By bidding on these extraordinary works of art, you can directly contribute to improving the lives of rare disease patients and their families.
