imagination is reason in her most

exalted mood” – Anton Smit

Anton Smit is a contemporary South African sculptor, born August 2, 1954, widely known for his large-scale sculptures and public art exhibitions. His sculptures are displayed in various locations worldwide, including libraries, wine estates, corporate offices, and local spots like Menlyn Maine Shopping centre. Anton Rupert acquired one of Smit’s works for the Rembrandt Foundation, and Desmond Tutu and Pik Botha have purchased his sculptures.

Anton Smit- Art as a Medium for Change

Smit’s artistic engagement serves as a powerful medium for change. His sculptures often provoke thought and inspire action, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own roles within society. By intertwining his art with social responsibility, he amplifies the message that art can be a catalyst for positive change, urging others in the creative community to consider how they too can contribute.– Roelien Smit
