About the artist:
I was born in Bloemfontein, moved to Pretoria about 25 years ago and was working in the IT industry until a few years ago. Decided to invest in and explore my artistic side, as I now have the time to do so.
The various media I work in are fabric/acrylic on stretched canvas or glass /grout on a waterproof background.
I use the patterns within the fabric or glass to create the structure, depth, and perspective in my work. It is challenging to work in these different media, as they are often hard and unforgiving.
My fabric collages are created on stretched canvas for indoors, while my glass collages are ideal for outdoors, totally waterproof.
About the artwork:
This piece was created in response to the senseless slaughter of the African rhino population.
