Somandla Ntshalintshali, renowned for his exquisite hand-coiled vessels, has
created this elegant rhino-handled form. Slindile Mchunu then painted the horns
with tiger stripes to link the rhino to animals from another continent that are also
hunted for their supposed erotic powers.
Slindy’s choice of spicy colours and paisley patterns adds to the allure of sensuous,
exotic places and alludes to the mystery as to why humans attribute sexual prowess
to certain animals.
