Artist statement
This painting was done from a photograph that I took when visiting the Grand Canyon. I liked the position of the tree in front of a view of the canyon.
About the artist:
I am an artist who only started painting when I retired in 2006. I attended classes with various teachers and enjoy painting in oils and acrylics. I am a member of several art societies, namely South African Society of Artists {SASA}, The Constantia Art Society {CAS] and the Blaauwberg Art Society {BASE}. I served on the SASA council for a couple of years organizing their winter workshops. I am one of the remaining two founder members of BASE, which was formed in November 2009 and remain on the Committee as the Treasurer / Secretary of the Society. I am 75 years of age, have two children and three grandchildren, two of which live in Santa Fe, New Mexico, United States of America with their parents.
